If i understand the question, what's to regret? I sincerly wish that people were still protesting the way they did in the 60s did.

There should be no regrets about that era at all. Not only did it provide us with a lot of great music, art, and fashion, it also carried with it an important message for peace in this world and understanding of all cultures. It's only unfortunate the message wasn't heeded.
