Yes. The famous saying that you have to hit rock bottom before you come back up can be too true. Unfortunately, for many, they don't come back up. You need to make a decision as to which is more important to you. You can recover. It has been done. But you can't do it on your own, that is why there are support groups. You may even need detox. But you can do it. I know you love your family too much to let drugs come between you. Feel free to email me. I will be glad to help you find a support group in your area. Good luck and God Bless!

Any time a person is addicted to anything that alters how their mood they run the risk of losing everything and everybody.
Sometimes even though your family (especially parents) love you more than anything in the world it gets to a point after a while where your addiction and the related effects of it are just so exhausting they can't deal with all the upheaval any longer. They may try to appear as if they continue to support you, but inside something has happened to all the love they once had because they just get so exhausted at being put through so many scares and other emotional upheaval. It is a terrirlbe thing to realize that your loved one appears so hopelessly addicted to something you have to face the fact that he/she could accidentally kill her/herself.
From the viewpoint of the family member, it is difficult to understand the addiction and one keeps wondering why this person he/she loves so much would put someone through so much worry and awfulness. A parent, for example, can hang in and hang in and keep hoping and hoping and believing the addicted person will get better. After too long, though, its get to be too much and even though the parent understands that the addiction isn't something the addict planned it can feel as if the addict doesn't love his/her parent enough to do what's healthy.
Even when the parent hangs in for a very long time, the way they see the child changes and while they may continue to love the child very much that love doesn't include respect or admiration, which love should.
Do whatever it takes to beat any addiction if you want a normal, whole life and your relationships to be what they should be.

Addiction is a frame of mind. Anyone who wants to stop can do so. I have had my fair share of problems with friends and family due to drug use. I stopped using on my own because I wanted to. Rehab will not work if you enjoy using drugs and do not want to stop. No, I never lost anything from drug use other than a few brain cells. I never used that part of my brain any way, so no big loss.

I've seen a cousin lose everything. And it want a pretty sight. His Family gave up on him. He stole, he lied, he escaped from rehab, even sold himself to buy drugs. I know you might feel as if it's the only thing that helps you get through your problems but thats all crap. Get some help and show your family, friends and bf that the person they love is still inside you. Just need to find it. God Bless.

Yes I have and I lost myself in the process. It took me a long time to get out from under that elephant, even now it is hard. BUT I have someone who loves me and supports me even through the hardest times. Look addiction is different for everyone and that goes double for their bottoms. You know bottoming out. Mine could be nothing compare to someone Else's they are never the same. My bottom was not when I lost my family but when I looked in the mirror one day and I disappeared. It was scary even thinking about it now makes me shiver. Drugs are no joke they can take over your life before you know it.

Yes. Drugs have destroyed thousands of lives. Get help now, before it's too late. There are lots of community resources out there. Seek them out, and make a decision and commitment to get straight. The longer you put it off, the more difficult it will be.
