I am Greek so I have read and studied Oddessey at school, at the Modern Greek lessons. I love the meaning of the Oddessey, that the journey is important, not the destination. My favourite part is when Oddyseas goes back to his island and tries to find out what's the situation at his palace after all these years that he has been away and to accomplish that, Goddess Athena transforms him into a poor man so nobody can see who he really is.

I read it when I was ten years old. It is hard to choose a favorite part. I like the Iliad better. I suppose my pet part of the Odyssey is when Odysseus goes to the land of the dead underground to consult the spirit of the wisest prophet Tiereisias. He sees some of his companions in the Trojan War, e.g. the giant cousins Achilles and Ajax and the mortal part of Heracles as well as his mother. I was fond of heroic men like Achilles and Heracles when I was age ten.

Required reading in high school senior year. Thank goodness for Cliff notes! My favorite part was when I passed the test on it.

When Odysius takes stock of his situation before attacking his enemies. After years away any other man would have run to his death, instead he was patient and waited to attack with deadly precision.

My favorite parts are how Penelope deceives her suitors and how Odysseus has his men tie him up so he can hear the sirens song.
