Odor eaters spray didn't really work ... just masked odor
Neither did febreeze, even though it said "not recomended" for leather shoes.

they aren't sneakers and my feet don't smell bad on their own, its just that I've been wearing these fashion wedge sandals every day this summer ... they are to die for, great for long city walks... and now they are stinky

I have had the same trouble with flip flops in the summer. If the are porous (absorb sweat), then they are gonna stink no matter what. Since you don’t have sox on, it only makes it worse. Try using baking soda, they also makes baking soda for shoes, as well as sprays for this problem. If the sandals start to get really discolored from "foot grim", then hand scrub them. It's only a short term fix.
Lastly, you’re probably going to need to just through them away. If you really like the sandals then just buy 3 or 4 pair next time your out, or next season just find a new style and do the same. Don't wait because they may discontinue the style or run out of your size. Just take a lead from KS head coach
"Snyder's quirks is that he hoarded boxes and boxes of a particular type of Nike shoe in the 1980s upon learning that the line was about to be discontinued."

Perspiration usually has a distinctive odor, but not an offensive one. Offensive odor could be caused by bacteria on skin and clothing. You could wash your feet with antibacterial soap. If your feet are sensitive to one product, you can try another. Dusting cornstarch on your feet before getting into socks and shoes helps to keep them dry (moisture encourages bacteria to grow and flourish), or you can try soaking them daily in warm water with white vinegar or Epsom salts added.
Other tips include wearing cotton socks instead of nylons or other synthetic materials; changing the pads in the bottoms of your shoes; wearing leather footwear; and, a good, strong foot massage by a loving husband or partner to relax the feet. If the problem really bothers you, and youve tried various home remedies, a trip to a health care provider could be in order.

Put a few drops of white vinegar in the bottom of your shoes every night. Also, soak your feet in vinegar water. There are several products you can order for stinky feet and shoes but it is best not to wear the same shoes every day so alternate your shoes, always wear clean socks (if you are wearing socks), and wash your feet regularly.

Leather soap for the outside. Inside too if it is leather.
Baking soda for the inside. It will take more than once. Put baking soda on your socks before wearing the shoes.
Switch your shoes out daily so it doesn't happen again.

Leather shoes are tricky but try this: first wipe out any old/dead skin and debris from inside, then use a damp sponge keep wipeing all inside, then place them outside up high so no animal can get them. let them dry in the sun. After they are dry if they still smell check inside again to make sure you got all the dead skin cells. If not repeat steps above.
Dead Skin Cells is what is makeing your shoes stink.
tip to keep them clean: wipe them out everytime after you wear them and you sweat. Also make sure your feet are clean first before you put them on.
Hope this helps-Morgan

Put them in a plastic bag and throw them into the freezer overnight. Freezing will kill the bacteria that causes the odor. You can also try filling them with baking soda for a couple of days.

Try baking soda or go to a sporting goods store and get the odor eater balls to go inside athletic shoes.

Get new ones. If they smell now they definitely will next summer. Are the shoes or sandals? If they are shoes try baking soda.

If they are athletic shoes, like Nike or Reebok, I wash mine. I put them in cold water, small amount of detergent, and gentle wash and spin. I hang them out on my line, or I just put them somewhere in the house where they will dry. It takes awhile for them to dry. I even put liquid bleach on mine and I wash everyone's in the family. They are still looking great. If you paid a lot of money, you might just want to wipe them out with something like 409 and then set them out in the sun. Also, if you wear socks, you might want to wear cotton ones. They absorb more sweat and wearing shoes( if they are athletic or tennis shoes), without socks will make them smell more.
