Out of these movies which ones should my friends and I watch? We don't like teen horror or slasher movies movies, nor ones where everyone sits around talking about stuff. I did some research, but it is difficult because I don't want to know the entire movie befroe we watch it. Here's the list:
Rose Red
Pet Cemetary
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Omen
Psycho (One Friend wants us to see this one)
Poltergeist
28 Days Later
The Birds
Shallow Grave
Alice Sweet Alice
The Others (Both friends have seen this, not me)
The Brood
Rose Mary's Baby
The Devil's Backbone
The Changeling
The Dead Zone
Blair Witch Project
Nightmare on Elm Street (My streets name)
Audition
The Exorcist(cism?)
What four or five would you suggest? And a little off topic, but how many bags of candy do you go through on Halloween?
Hah! I spelled which correctly this time!
I'm posting this again, because after tallying the votes, I still can't come make a decision!

give out or eat. We give out 15-20 each year. It's probably because of the Street name, and the cemetary up the street.

Pet Semetary is good, so is the sequel. Texas Chainsaw massacre is good, both the original and the new one. Both Omens are good. Psycho is overrated, id pass on that one unless you friends gonna pay the rental fee ;) Poltergeist is one of my faves. all of them are pretty decent. 28 days later is lousy, rent Dawn of the Dead instead. The Birds is a classic. The Others is ok, I wouldnt buy it, but a rental is worthwhile. Rose Marys baby is overrated, but if you havent seen it, you should watch it once anyway. Blair Witch Project is 2 hours of my life ill never get back. Nightmare on Elm Street is decent. seems like the longer they went on, the hokeyer they got. if youve never seen it though, check out the first one. Johnny Depp is in it if your fan. Im surprised you have the Audition on there. I picked it up offa amazon a while ago cuz Ive been getting into Asian horror. the Audition will freak you out for sure. it starts out slow but it gets really nasty about halfway through. you wont forget it, trust me, hahha...the ones I didnt mention I havent seen. but you have a good list goin, im impressed...youve done your homework.
and for ur other question, its been a while since I T&Td myself, but I used to go through about 3 bags back when I was a kid. I stay away from chocolate now, think I got burned out on it as a kid haha...have fun with ur movies.

The Others, Shallow Grave (though not technically a "horror" movie), 28 Days Later, Psycho, and Poltergeist.
There you get a little of everything... none of it teen or slasher. There are other good ones on there, but those are my picks if you haven't seen. If you like Ewan McGregor, he was also in a movie called "Night Watch"... very creepy. Keeping in mind the things that you said you don't like (teen, slasher, too much talking) - I would definitely stay away from Rose Red (a long movie with a lot of talking... reminded me of "House on Haunted Hill"), Blair Witch (loved it, but most of it is sitting around talking), Nightmare on Elm St (teen), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (horrifying, but definitely a teen slasher flick).
As for bags of candy on Halloween... I live in a smaller beach town, so we don't have a lot of year-roudn people here. I've never needed more than one bag. Sad, because I love Halloween!
Have fun!

Watch "The Poltergeist". That one is a must see. You have to watch "Nightmare on Elm Street". It's so cool that you live on Elm St. too. It will make the movie that much scarier. And you have to watch "The Exorcist." It's a classic. Psycho is great too. And since "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was based on a true story, it will make it scarier. "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is one of the few scary movies I haven't seen, but all my friends tell me it's really scary, so get that one. Save it for last. Those are my recommendations. Great list.

Psycho is pretty good, since your friend wants to see it I'd pick that one. Nightmare on Elm Street is a nice choice. Pet Cemetary was one I enjoyed when I was younger but not as much when I got older. Blair Witch project is one that some loved and others couldn't sit through, so it may not be the top choice for somethign everyone will enjoy. Here are others not in your list that tend to get a discussion: Steven King's It is a good one to consider, definately a scary one. Most of Steven King's stuff it pretty good. Child's Play was another one I liked as a kid but scared me at the time, now I enjoy it but it doesn't scare me anymore.

Pet Cementary is a good one.
Nightmare on elm street is pretty much a teen slasher but a good movie.
Alice sweet Alice is also good.
If you are going to watch the texas chainsaw massacre you need to watch the original it is better than the new one.
If you want a scarry movie get the movie the web.

Rose Red, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and 28 Days Later are all good movies. But may I suggest one not on your list. The Shining starring Jack Nicklas. This movie is both scary and very creepy. Its one of my all time favorites. We usually go through about 5 or 6 bags of candy on Halloween. We have a lot of kids in our neighborhood.

My recommendations
The Exorcist
The Omen
28 Days Later
Pet Cemetary
Audition (just absolutely shocking).
The Birds
Nightmare on Elms Stree (the first one)
also I am going to throw a recommedation that is not on your list... Phantasm
I wouldn't really recommend Psycho, its a bit dated
The Others is not a real horror film.
Shallow Grave is more of a thriller
Rose Mary's Baby is good, but dated.
you can lookup films and see what others say on the site below. I, along with others, post our reviews there.
