I don't think I have much to add except first to just agree with you.

The good and evil or not absolute but are relative. What Hitler did was all along good to ------- as long as he was winning. It bacame bad subsequently. There were reasons as he got some strong opponent and lost. And for him it was the right thing so he did.

Even today the countries are fighting. You ask each one they think they are right and the other one is wrong. The moment one thinks he is wrong, he detracts from fight, there is no war.

The problem here is some people or more equal than others that is the reason why the aggression. The other people does under stand that they are treated with inferiority and which is not acceptable to them. This happens within the house, within the village, district, state. This remains as long as there are different religions, different castes, different communities. We don't see an end to them. So this continues and we don't see an end.

Even this is reversible or circulating. A society which is inferior rises. a Societ which is higher can become inferior. This goes on and on and on.

Hence finally what I want to say is there is no absolut evil or good except in some cases, like atom bombs. Good to self is evil to the enemy and good to enemy is evil to self.

We NEVER, subjectively, choose an option that is bad. I hesitate to use the term evil because it has a whole history and metaphysics which is unfounded and unnecessary for ethics. Good and bad, ok? You cannot produce an example such that you recognize an option as having less right, justice, or goodness (according to your beliefs and desires) And then choose that option over one which you recognize as being better.

Hitler was wrong. But only wrong to us. And maybe, if he had lived, he could, as we do, come to realize his past decisions were also wrongly chosen. But MANY will grant that he knew what was right and then chose against it, and this understanding of how the human mind works is demonstrably FALSE.

To understand how a Hitler can exist, and actively will his good, which is murderous and oppressive, we must understand that his beliefs and desires are conditioned on a whole history-society gestalt. If/when you come to realize this, you will also know that it is never, though it appears as such, a person that is to blame but the systematic material causes such as unconscionable fallacy and repression. Captivating ideas are totally prescient-- their being holds reign over the possibilities of the future.

what is good for the humanity & nature is good. what is bad for the humanity & nature is bad, did hitler think of science or medical aspect when he was doing those evil things ? rain ... when it provides water for the animals & helps the plants to grow it is good. when it causes hevoc by causing floods uprooting the trees & making the people homeless it is evil.scientists experiment with animals when they r finding new medicines for different diseases. how many animals ( though they r small )they would have killed ? do u think they r evil? the whole humanity will be saved because of their reseach . isn't it. what i am trying to tell is whatever action we do there is a reason & purpose behind id. if that reason & purpose is good then the action is good if the purpose is bad then it is evil .good & evil does not belong to any particular religion. it is the humanity & the nature which decides which is evil &which is evil.

The Bible tells us that God is good and satan is evil. God set up the church to tell the world that good or evil ( right or wrong) is a choice that God has allowed us to make. He would much rather have us choose good over evil but, allows us to choose of our own free will. Sometimes even 'good' people make choices that end up being bad. We learn from our mistakes and if we truly want to do good in the world, we will. If we draw near to God and his teachings, we will be a part of what He wants. Doing wrong is appealingin this world. That is the way satan has designed it. If we do it satan's way we pull away from God and the end is not good. Most times, men make choices based on their own rationalities. Many powerful leaders have attempted to 'cleanse the world' and committed atrocities that will never be forgotten or forgiven by mankind. If you believe in the Bible and what it teaches, study it and it will become clearer. If you do not or are not sure, study it anyhow. Put it to the test and see if it is right or wrong. In the end we must live with our own choices, forever.

Evil is there, so the Good exist. This is the reason many times we have to conclude "all what is happening and what has happened are for good". The growth of our world itself is motivations from the evils happened.

We can take hundreds of examples from the past. Evils are evils today because we don't know what it is leading us to. If we know the ultimate aim of all happenings then we will naturally welcome many things that we call evil today.

If you are a spiritual person, I have a better and short answer for it:

"God doesn't make mistakes."

Religions many times criticize and oppose the happenings when they don't like it when it is against their religion. But a true spiritual must understand all what has happened is inevitable. Among any situation the ones to be preserved are preserved and ones not worthy are destroyed.

There are yet another group of people. For them when the evil happens to others it is good and when it happens to them it is bad.

Well.... I think this one is the best question I've ever read, and all relative points of view you have expressed are answering your own question.
Throughout history people have lived tied to an invisible group of laws "paradigm" which condition their actions and ideas. Nowadays the paradigm that is present is relativity. Everything is relative. Depending on the point of view. The Bible has tried to give a sense of waht is right and what is wrong (don't kill, etc), but if a man is about to start an atomic bomb and I kill him, my action will be decided as GOOD. Everything depends on your position and your point of view. Was the war with Iraq good? For USA was preventing terrorism and good for theirdefense... And for people in Iraq... Guess the answer!!!!

You've got a nice point there, fella. We see the world as a balance of two oposite forces, but in fact is not anything like that. Nature (either human or not) does everything for a reason. Yes, Katrina is an example of what many would call: Evil... "the planet wants to kill us". That's what many think. But maybe it happened because the earth just wants to cool itself. The planet IS alive, and natural disasters happen, but they're not EVIL... they're evil just by interpretation.

Another example is the 9/11 terrorist attack, some see it as evil, but others see it as good. And the ones who see it as evil want to convince the ones who see it as good that they're wrong... "We must punish those bastards" they could say.

EVIL really means: "This doesn't let me evolve", and GOOD can be translated to: "This is giving me a chance to grow". But this is just human interpretation. The truth is neither good or bad, it's just there for us to enjoy.

You aren't sick ..lots to ponder here ......
Quite simply though ..WITHOUT EVIL THERE WOULD BE NO GOOD.....

Its all about choices . You can do something that is evil and have the choice to correct it by your actions ...There have been many odd or evil things done in the name of science . Joseph Mengele was a notoriously evil doctor who did dastardly things at the concentration camps in WWII . Medical journals were kept by Mengele and as a result of his actions there were many things that resulted in good . One thing that I recall would be advances in medicine and experiments that helped and continue to help the medical community and the military (the worlds Military ) to prevent fliers from expiring due to freezing temperatures ..
If you take that thought a little further , Mengele would have been a great physician if he would have remembered to keep to the Hippocratic Oath that says in part.."to do no harm" He escaped to Argentina and it is said that he practiced medicine there for awhile .someone benefited from his actions ...He also had the opportunity , by doing good and asking forgiveness from God ..... So ultimately . There is no good without evil and without the devil we would have no need of God .....

Hope this helps you ...

Good and evil works down to morals and ethics- the basic science of Hitler's Doctors for example-they performed horrible but fascinating experiments on the concentration camp victims
Fascinating and a stepping stone for things like transplant surgery
But it was evil- why? Because it was immoral and unethical to forcibly do it and because they weren't thinking about bettering anything

I think of it like this. Evil delights in the death of or pain or some other living thing. Evil delights in despair, in hopelessness, grief, etc., etc.

Think of a movie like Hostel where people are paying for the pleasure to inflict pain, suffering and death on another human being. That's evil. What went on in the death camps of the Third Reich was the Hostel X 100. It's so far beyond our comprehension and truly dark evil is not something that thankfully many of us have ever been exposed to.

But if you question whether or not evil is at work...just look at all the missing people out there...the vast majority of whom were used to satify some horrible lust of another person before their lives were snuffed out and their bodies disposed of. That's evil at its barest...the thought of another person's gratification coming as they steal the life from someone...It's utterly horrifying.

There is ongoing debate about whether the scientific evidence gathered by the Nazis in their experiements should be reviewed for possible "good" uses. One part of me says yes, and another says no. It's too scary a leap to condone that and not expect someone else to think to himself...if it's ok for them to have done it, why can't we do it now??

Ok I'm done.
