Instead of drilling for more oil companies need to take that revenue to develope alternate fuel sources for vehicles and nuclear energy for producing electricity. Nuclear technology is far safer and superior now than it was in the 80's and it needs to be SERIOUSLY considered as part of a national energy policy.
And, Answerman? Got news for ya, moron -- money is all that ANY politican cares about, Republican OR Democrat. What you got they want any way they can get it!

Do you think for one minute that if we drill oil in Alaska that we will see it in the lower 48. Oil from there now goes to Japan. I would suppose that big oil and your stinking, coke snorting, alcoholic, president wants to open the market to China, that is where the money is and that is all repuke's care about is the money.

Your partly right, the demorats have made MANY deals with the tree huggers to keep any drilling in Alaska or off our coast from happening.

Our politicians got $100,000 a pop lobby money to vote the way they did! They took money to screw us and knew they were doing this.
link Tv ran as expose on all our politicians going in and out of Abramoff's bar. That was the place in DC to get loaded with lobby money. The BBC has filmed them all there.

Plus we need more nuclear powerplants. France (one of the few things that they did right) gets more than 50% of their electrical needs from that tiny atom.
