Can I buy one off of ebay then have it programmed through cingular?

the people that answered your question know nothing about phones. the tuth is that it is impossiblr to unlock the sidekick 2 or 3, because it is an internet phone. that is the only phone that you can not unlock from t mobile. trust me i tried.

If you want to just use it for the basic functions like making and receiving calls, maybe some text messaging and mutilmedia messaging you can use it with Cingular possibly.
You won't be able to access the internet with it because the company that actually makes the Sidekick 3, DANGER, designed it to work with their servers on the T Mobile network ONLY. If you can't use it for the net, then what is the point of even getting it?
Plus you won't be able to download or possibly access OFFICIAL Cingular content or web portals because the software on the Sidekick is setup for T Mobile. You'll get nothing but ERRORS while attempting to access all that stuff.

You can buy it off of ebay and then take it to a wireless phone dealer who can unlock it for you and then the cingular sim card will work in it. Cingular won't unlock another company's phone but there are places that can do it for a reasonable fee.

No u can't get it under cingular because 1 da sidekicks r exclusive tmobile phones and u can't unlock an internet phone so switch ova to da best company (tmobile) and take ur number with u and buy a tmobile sidekick

T Mobile sells the sidekicks. Go to a T Mobile store or shop online.
