It is cheaper to turn it off for ANY amount of time you are not in the house!
Your house gains heat from the outside at a rate that depends on the temperature differential. If your house is very cool, then it gains more calories per minute that it would if it was warmer. If it was exactly the same temperature as the outside, then it would gain no calories per minute.
So you are better off turning of the AC, and letting it warm up while you are at work. (Of course, it you have heat-sensitive pets, plants, etc. that might not be practical.)
You can also use a timer so the AC comes back on 30-60 minutes before you get home, so it is cool when you get there. Just make sure you get a timer that can handle a heavy current load, if you plug a window AC into it. If you have central AC, you can get a thermostat with a built-in timer at any home improvement store.

No 10 hours at work is a long time. Turn it off when you leave. If you left the house for less then two hours it might be worth leaving it on.

No you won't save by turning it off...the reason being your AC will have to work that much harder (pull more energy) to cool the place down! Like heat in the winter...it is best to find a comfortable setting then leave your hands off the thermostat

Set it at 85 when leaving in the morning, that's not so bad. Then turn it down to your desired temperature when coming back. Turning it off will make your AC work too much to go from 105 to 75.

Turning it up will save money.
I don't know where you live but if it's somewhere really hot turning it up to about 80 degrees will also save money and it might not take so long to get it cooled down again.

You'd probably be better off leaving it on, but setting it to a warmer temperature during the day. The best option would be to get yourself a programmable thermostat
