I don't have a lot of luck just using Windex. My windows still always seem to look like they need cleaning. I always use a clean cloth to clean with too.

The best way to clean windows and leave a streak free finish to them is good old fashioned vinegar and water...
Mix equal parts vinegar with water in a spray bottle, and instead of using paper towels, ball up some newspaper to wipe them

On the outside, slop soapy (or windex-diluted) water on the windows with a sponge and clear with a wide squeegee like the pro window washers do. On the inside, use the cleaner of your choice--I like windex--and a dry newspaper. Use a new sheet once it gets wet--the Sunday New York Times can do a whole house.

I found the best way to clean streak free windows is to use 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol to 1/2 cup white vinegar.

Make a mixture of vinegar and water and spray that on your windows. Use a newspaper to scrub with and it will do a great job of cleaning your windows.

i had the same problem cleaning my car windows and found using one clean towel to wash and another to dry does great. If you can get by the smell, vinegar and newspaper.

Windex works better when you use paper towel not a cloth.
