Overall the best player has to be Ladanian Tomlinson. He's the most athletic the most skilled and has all the intangibles of a NFL legend in the making. Just like Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, and Marshall Faulk were when they were his age.

Well, I'm going to assume you want a current player.
The "best player" would be somebody on a good team, with great leadership skills, and great talent on the field. And he always comes through in the clutch. So I pick Tom Brady. I may not like him, but he just seems to get the job done when it counts the most 9 out of 10 times.
That INT vs Denver was his one big missed opportunity so far. Don't expect to see something like that again for a long time.

According to statistics I have gleaned from web sites, L. Tomlinson, a running back for the San Diego Chargers is reported to be the "best" NFL player at this time. Presently, he is the highest-paid running back. Time will tell.

QB- Peyton Manning
RB-LaDainian Tomlinson
WR- Randy Moss
TE- Tony Gonzalez
I really don't pay much attention to the OL or DL
OLB- Joey Porter, Ray Lewis
MLB-Brian Urlacher, Johnathon Vilma
CB- Champ Bailey
FS- Corey Chavous
SS- Roy Williams

terrel owens is my favorite besides his attitude and all the other crap he started hes got skills before he left the eagles him and donavan had this connection like pretty much every QB has for ex. peyton and marvin. terrel was pretty much always open and even if he wasnt he still did a good job at catching the ball my top 5 besides him would be:
