Any tips on how to organize the Sims 2 downloads folder. I have soo many downloads it's confusing. Some things you can't put into folders (but I don't know which ones). So any tips or web pages?

If you go to http://www.modthesims2.com , they have a listing in the help/tutorial area that tells exactly what types of objects can be put into subfolders in the download folder (eyes, skins, hair, makeup, etc).

You can put a lot more things into subfolders once you get expansion packs. I haven't had any problems with it since the first EPs. The base game didn't used to 'do' subfolders, but the EPs do.

Some things, you might want to give a subfolder name for where you got it, like a folder called MTS2, peggysims, etc.

If I download game mods (things that change the way the game works), like a hack that cures diseases, or stops sims from yelling at me that they are tired when I already told them to go to bed... I have a subfolder named after the type of hack. This makes it easier to remove them when an EP comes along that might not be compatible with old hacks. It'll also make it easier to remember which hacks I have to upgrade when a new EP comes out.

Other things to put into subfolders would be like era type stuff you download for role playing. Like all gothy stuff, or all King Author, or Harry Potter or Flintstone downloads, ...themes if you will, into their own folders. So when you get tired of a theme you can just trash that subfolder.
