How can people get welfare if they own a home in an middle income area. in Nassau County with having equity in the house.

It all depends how many are in the household.Also if a child in the home is not getting any kind of child support,(if the other parent is not in the home),they qualify for AFDC(aid for dependent children). If they are receiving food stamps and both have a JOB there is no way they can get food stamps unless they are lying on their application.If they are this constitutes as fraud and carries a heavy penalty,plus the have to pay the amounts back.Too many people are abusing a system set up to help the poor in our nation.They make it more difficult for those who need it,to get it.

Becasue they are liars and taking our taxpayers money!!
Or they just :know" someone which is always a help?
