In the 1800's Cocaine was used for medicinal purposes. It was the medication that people especially women would take for various ailments.Women were frowned upon for drinking,so they used cocaine. It could be purchased through mail order catalogs and traveling medicine men. They would give it to their babies so they could sleep after a long day.
Heroine was also legal at one time.It came in a prepacked kit for the doctors to use. It was given as a cough medicine to begin with in the 1800's.It was given for all ailments like headache, back ache and stomach.
In the 1800's there was no anesthesia for surgeries and amputations.Four or five men would hold the patient down while the doctor quickly sawed off the affected part.Soon they learned Heroine could be used as an anesthesia.
During WW2 men in the military received drugs in their kits,to give them a little boost during fighting.
So the government has done SOME research regarding legalizing drugs.President Nixon was the first t o start a categorization of drugs.I feel drugs should not be legalized. We have been there once before.I wish people would pay heed.

Yeah right!!! If cocaine became legal and cheap in this country we'd have even more illegal immigrants than we already do. All the drug dealers/producers from Colombia and Peru would invade our country since we have the most cocaine users in the world. Besides the fact that tax payers would end up paying for the eventual incarceration/rehabilitation of all these crack heads!

No. Cocaine should be eliminated completely- possibly even for medicinal use, if there are any. The effects of the drug are obviously devastating- proven to have destroyed people, families and lives. It is both physically and psychologically additive.
People should be free to do as they please- I truly believe that.
Crime and violence are just a few things that cocaine are attributed to. There are absolutely no social, psychological, spiritual, cultural benefits.

No. No. And no. Just for good measure. Have you ever heard of marijuana ruining someone's life. Cocaine can and does on a regular basis.

YES and if you commit a crime while under its influence means extra penality, same with gun crime, dui or any mind altering substance and you automatically loose any constitutational rights, regardless of sex ,sexual orenitation, status in life you're a nobody and if you make it through my ideal system YOU WON"T COME BACK /// Let the law abiding citizens live in peace and to h e l l with the shysther lAWYERS and their s h i t /// AMEN!!! we don't need to outlaw a bunch of stuff that in essence put cuffs on law abiding citizens and taxes them to death ,but we do need to enforce our current laws , that ain't going to happen because the crimanals are sitting on both sides of the tables and are milking us dry///

All drugs should be handed out for free - that way there is no crime from people stealing, killing, mugging for money, and those people who want to fry their brains can go right ahead and hopefully overdose.

Certainly not! The same with marijuana! Pot smokers get lazy and unmotivated when high. It's hard enough to get a days work out of people when they're straight. How about when they're stoned and with the munchies!
