Proactive didn't work for me either... I acutally had success with the Clean and Clean (continous control) line. I wash my face morning and evening, moisturize, and then use the spot treatment at night on problem areas. Consistency seems to be the key and it's worked well. I also make sure that I wash mid day if I workout or it's humid and I feel oily.
You might also want to consider trying a different kind of foundation/base make-up. I use bare minerals and I love it!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

That seems to be a more intern problem. You have to go to a dermathologist, he will determine what kind of acne you have and prescribe the right treatment for you. Sometimes its taking some pills as well as cleasing soap and topical lotions.
Some people doesn't like to go to the doc and wish the problem solves with some miracle product like proactive, but that is a precious time you are wasting trying that stuff. A short visit to the doctor will solve the problem

I would guess different things work different for different people, but I use Clearasil Ultra---the more expensive--like 7.49. I have sesitive skin, too, and anything else seems to make me break out more---even the cheaper Clearasil. I buy it at Wal-Mart. Don't use too much, cuz it does dry out skin if you do.

Clean & Clear. It works like a charm i've done it and it might feel like it's drying you up but it's not really. Use the cleanser and the mostiner and your skin feels softer instanly.
