1. Do you have any chicken wire? You can write the b-day girl's name with xmas lights by weaving the lights thru the wire.

2. Streamers- do you have a tall pole and at least 4 shorter ones? Place the taller one in the middle of where you want the other four. Dig the holes deep enough to support the poles. Next, take the streamers and tape them to the outer four poles (one at a time) twist them while bringing the streamers toward the taller pole. repeat this step until you have put up all three colors on each of the four poles and then to the center pole.

3. Hang some xmas lights from each of the outer poles, going around the circle of poles, then go to the center. This will create a lighted dance floor, you can also do this if you have a cover over the picnic table. This way you can have not only a lighted dance floor, but also a lighted eating area.

4. Bring a jam box with the 13 year old's favorite music. This can be one of his/her gifts or something they helped you with.

Good Luck with the party planning!

Get a bunch of the clearance material at Walmart, usually $1 yard, in white. Dye batches of it in your theme colors. Rit dye works great if you follow the instructions. Make a seam along the long side of the material, about 10 feel of it or so, with the material cut to a taper at the top. Buy thin PVC tubing and run the tubing throught the seam. Plant the tubing so that it is sticking up into the air. The thinner the tubing the more wave it will have, but make sure it's not too thin so that it doesn't double over.

Good luck and have fun!

Um let's see.

I'm thinking the easiest thing to do if you have lots of xmas lights, get thin wire bendable bar things like at a hardware store, then twist them into the letters of the birthday girl (I'm guessing) 's name. Then wrap the xmas lights around.

For streamers and lights, I'm not sure if this would cause a fire, but if it's safe, wrap xmas lights around trees then put the colored streamers over it.
