It isn't difficult for me to relate to people who haven't but i feel a little missionary about trying to make them travel. I just want everyone to have a more worldly perspective, because I think it is the only way to truly understand our fellow human beings. I have traveled all around Europe and to Puerto Rico and I am now living in the middle east. Talk about a different perspective. I am seeing a war, something that I was completely sheltered from when living in the states. Your whole life can be altered by traveling. I think it is the greatest experience in the world. And if one can, then I HIGHLY recommend it. Really immerse yourself in another culture for a while.

I was ten years in Japan, with only 8 days out of the country.

I see things with, I hope, a broader perspective than I did; I don't put up with as much time-wasting nonsense.

It's not particularly difficult to relate to people who haven't lived abroad, but I often secretly think how much they would enjoy and benefit from some of the experiences I've had.

Mexico... it would be pretty shallow if you couldn't relate to people who haven't had the same opportunities that you have had. When death stares you in the face, then you have a right to see things in a different perspective!

Anyone who has traveled outside their own country gets a very different perspective on the world.
People that have never gone, just don't get IT.
