Absolutely, get the kids to help too! Unless they are very young indeed, they should be able to put away their toys and make their beds.

It might help to keep a small set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom: That will ease keeping those clean. Another thing that might be useful is to set aside a time to spend concentrating on cleaning: That way it's not likely to be neglected.

Good luck!

Get the family involved for sure. Each day, spend 30 minutes to an hour working on a room and keep at it each day until the room is finished and then go to the next room. You should have the house in great shape within 2 weeks.

its simply a matter of getting on top of it then staying orgainsed, on a weekend get all in your house to help do the whole thing in one hit then give everyone chores to do every day, maybe you do the kitchen work, hubby does the vaccum and kids pick up put things away something like that? good luck

why not hire a local high school student, they would probably do it with more enthusiasm than you and your family just because they are getting paid to do it. plus they would probably have some ideas for organizing that you haven't thought of yet.
