It is highly addicitve and I can't seem to quit. I've quit pot, cocaine and I am finding this last addiction difficult because of the availabilty. Kinda like a kid in a candy store.

No I think they should outlaw booze before tobacco.

Aside from a spray to kill bugs on plants, no one has ever found a worthwhile use for tobacco. But making it illegal doesn't do anything except create an underground market, complete with corruption, and drive the price up. Education is always more effective in the long run.

be fun to have both smokes and booze illegal together. What a circus. 3/4 of the country in prison and the other 1/4 watching them.

Hey the Kennedy's got all their cash from running booze, new dynasties could be raised from bootleg smokes.

Yes! And No! Here is my thinking:

I think it is crazy that the governement makes smoking illegal in public places, lets tobacco companies be sued for millions and billions, makes tobacco companies put warnings all over their cigarette boxes, etc. but then happily taxes the hell out of cigarette sales. If cigarettes are so damn lethal, then make them illegal.

(And if they aren't then leave the damn tobacco companies alone and quit taxing the hell out of people)!!!

Nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head to smoke tobacco. People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions, instead of letting the government do it for them.

Grow up people!

history should tell you a story about trying to outlaw alcohol, by doing so it made many millionaires from running the illegal booze..people still drank..so now it is legal..
and if they try to out law smokes..they would not have enough cops and court houses to try all the cases of abuse...
cigarettes are way to addictive to one day say they are illegal...people would go crazy..even though cigarettes cause so many health problems and causes cancers and causes even people who do not smoke to get cancer from second hand smoke...NO we can not out law them..BUT WHAT THEY NEED TO DO IS raise the TAX to 5 dollars a pack to pay for ALL the health related problems they WILL cause any and everyone who come in contact with them..why should people who chose not to smoke pay for the aging and sick smokers who choose to smoke..
so raise the tax extremely high to pay for the health care ALL smoker will use..

Personally, I don't see why not. Alcohol is the only controlled substance that I know of that can be safe if taken in moderation. Tobacco, weed, heroin, all that is dangerous even in moderation.

Yes, smoking, and second hand smoking kills more people a year than you can imagine, but that's the opinion of a part of a large smoking family who doesn't give a crap about wether it's gonna kill them or not. I'm not a smoker though. It's a vile dirty habbit.

No. But if companies can be proven to have added ingredients to cigarettes to make them more addictive, they should be shut down permanently.
