What kind of plants can you plant this time of the year in michigan?

There are all kinds of plants you can still plant before winter. There is a big difference in the the time you have left depending on where you live in Michigan. If you live in the southernmost part of the state, you can still enjoy newly planted summer bedding plants for a couple of months. If you live in the upper peninsula, time is running out. Best advice, since you didn't give a general location, is to go to your local library and check out some gardening books for ideas as to what and when you can plant in your area.

perennials, they will look good now and come back next year. easy ones to grow here in MI are iris, black eyed susans, daisys, coneflowers and sedum for sunny spots. Hostas and astilbe for shady places. it is a good time to buy these because most nurseries are having sales.

also in October it will be time to plant your spring bulbs. Tulips, daffodils and crocus. I have found a great supplier for those.

check out a book called attracting wildlife or making conservation of green spaces in your yard or making an impact on global warming or privacy hedges or biological buffer filtration strips first ask your self are there powerlines is there nice color you want flowers, trees like decidious or coniferous do you want an oasis do you want to take care of erosion is the soil moist is it clay do you want to see more goldfinches more humming birds do you want something as big as a sequia do you want mosses ferns or large jungle do you want climbers do you want stuff thats picky are you tring to restore the 97% of the wetlands that are gone in mi but there is only you and your the only one in the neiborhood whos tring to do something about gale and hurricane force winds do you want deep root penetration do you want something that gits very old for 3 trees that git cut down one gits planted the hardest part is the first step and doing it do you want to be picky how you plant or do you want a designated area that you just dont mow do you want a 30 ft trellis you walk under to git to your door do you want to leave it alone cause it will replant it self with the help of birds and animals or do you want to play god spray chemicals make everything brown then plant what you want do you want to hack the environment cause your not happy with your self or is the local deputy from blight department in your township telling you to inileate everything in your yard cause they said so and there holding onto old policys like gas is 19cents a gallon do you want your yard to be like a golf course steril baseball field cookie cutter or a barren grassland were mouther earths face is not pretty and you dont care about animals cause there not welcome at your house even thought you live close to the wetlands do you want 400$ in fines or jail time and threats of escalating oppression and possible violence and stalking by these people who have a mowhead mentality and it dont matter what your rights are cause they dont care about more violent neiborhoods they dont care about your right to be left alone or that you live in a private area your first amendment your sprituality your religion your freedom of creativity they dont care about clean air or watching someone git pulled out from a roof or the outline of someones car in an outline under water while the people stand on there roof and your tring to make an impact on this global warming do you want your neibors to cut on your side of the fence do you want your neibor to spray chemicals that brown your yard after you have made a raised bed which took the strenght of paul banyan do you want to be stressed out all the time over doing the right thing in your heart maybee you should think about the next time you try to have any habitat in your yard is it worth the headache ive went thru
