You may try to configure your Accesibility Options at the "Control Panel". There you can adjust some features like High-Contrasts, big text, etc.

May be it was activated by error :P

i gerantee that it is the Accessability option... go to Start>Control Panel> accessability and it will be in there... lok for words like High contrast

Set your display resolution higher.
