Yes, Hollywood makes us sound bad or think stupid things like we eat children or belive in Satan, how dumb. Historically speaking the new religion such as Christianity only made up Satan so people would be good. Some of the new shows such as Charmed and HEX are not so bad however over done so it is fun to watch. The US Air Force has real witches circles on base and we use the churches. Most of the Christians or others on base do not mind because all religions are Myths and so are all Gods, there is no right or wrong God or Goddess to worship. It is the person inside that counts and Witches do many kind things and support various charities. Therefore you have bad and good in all religions. Blessed Be

What do you consider a "truly" Witch is? Someone who's inexperienced skinned, dressed in all black and a sharp hat, driving a brush or soaring over a enormous, effervescent cauldron? That's now not a truly Witch. That's Disney's interpretation of what they consider a Witch is. A REAL Witch (which is not a Wiccan incidentally. Wicca is a faith having not anything to do with Witchcraft except the character CHOOSES to include it into their practices) is a healthful flesh tone (which will variety from enormously darkish, to a pinkish hue). They put on "road garments" and normally have walked beyond you on a quantity of circumstances with out your talents. They in no way rode brooms around the sky, and at the present time, cauldrons are a extra useful dimension, might be sitting upon their desk best (as lengthy in the past, fairly EVERYONE had a cauldron, as there were not ovens and levels to make use of to make dinner). They do exist, however now not in the way in which you permit fiction to dictate to you. You would not become aware of a Witch if s/he walked handed you at the road as they appear like everybody else. Numerous enterprises hire Witches (although THEY do not comprehend it, since it's unlawful for an organization to inquire approximately your devout/religious practices), ranging out of your neighborhood grocery store to the mother and pa store down the road. Witches in average lifestyles do the whole lot you do. They move to paintings, they pay their expenditures, deal with any kids they are going to have, do the laundry, blank condo and so forth. Witchcraft is a train, it does not surround their whole lives. Most Witches set apart particular instances throughout the day where to train their craft. Witches do certainly train spell paintings, however it is hardly ever what Disney has taught us. No spell on this planet can create whatever within the poof of smoke and make it look immediately. It takes a first-rate deal of research, and committed train to end up informed in this sort of craft. You can not readily pluck a spell off the web, recite the phrases and consider you'll be able to difference your hair or eye colour such as you had been in "The Craft". It does not paintings that manner.

Yes, though must of us are also Wiccans. I personally practice thread magic mostly and have helped with healing magic and other variations. Also, I do believe pray is a form of magic and has the same difficulties associated with it.

Magic is not necessarily black or white but colorless. It is the intent behind it and what is used to raise power that better defines it for good or ill.

Yes; witches really do exist. However, tv shows like "Charmed" portray them in a very misgiving light.
There are two sources of power; good & evil. There is no such thing as a good witch, or a white witch. Their source of power is dark, whether they know it or acknowledge it.
Random magic does not occur. It requires the involvement of humans and spirit beings.

Yes and no. During ancient times any woman who had knowledge of the healing arts might be called a witch. Or a woman who was eccentric was subject to be called a witch. However, if you mean women with connections to the devil who had supernatural powers, they did not exist.

Today there are people who call themselves witches, but they have no supernatural powers.

We all have power.
I exist, therefore I think.
Maybe we all need to do some real thinking instead of ignorant babble, talking about ex-wives and bosses...
Magick is all around you, and comes from inside you, and before it comes from inside you, it comes from the Divine All... love-energy flows into you from God at all times. How will you use it?
Blessed Be.

edit--------
I am tired of this mindless tripe about how we get our power from 'satan'. I do not believe in any such entity, only the evil that runs rampant in the hearts of men. And I know I do not get my power from the 'devil.' What people believe in, they breathe life into, and if I choose not to breathe life into a fictitious scapegoat, then said entity cannot concern itself with me. I know because I spent 7 years Atheist and neither God nor Satan could reach me. If you truly do not believe in something, it can have no effect on you. So enough of the ignorance. It is just another way for those who do not understand to keep themselves from understanding, and to keep the hatred and ignorance alive. This is a shame, because we could all be living perfectly harmoniously... But I guess these people are waiting on "Rapture" and so they are above the rest of us??? I think not. All Gods and Goddesses are only facets of the Divine All, not 'false.' So when I use a certain deity, I am mindful that he or she is part of the Divine All, and that all blessings come from the Source. Peace be to all who do not understand Our ways.

yes there are. however, they're not like they are perceived to be. and those who say witches worship the devil and the different gods and goddesses are just the devil in disguise, how would you like it if i told you god didn't exist and and he was an evil being? they believe in certain things/ people. just because you don't doesn't mean you have to say such things. just because you believe in only one god doesn't make it all right to tell people others worship the devil. you don't know them. how would you know? you shouldn't judge based on religion. persecution isn't a sin is it? and I'm not sorry for the sarcasm. persecution is wrong, on this you should agree. so unless you know of one witch who worships the devil, do not make judgments based only on their beliefs. witches are meerily the children of mother nature. they practice, to harness their natural abilities. they do this for the good of the earth and man kind. until you meet one you shouldn't judge them. good day to you.
