i cant seem to understand why my skin color is different shades. I take care of my skin as best as possible but yet and still i have different shades of skin. For example: My neck is darker than the color of my face, and my legs are lighter than my arms!

What can i buy that will help even out my skin color... and what causes the skin discoloration

Skin exposed to the sun gets darker especially in the arms and neck or face. If your skin color is fair, why not buy skin whitener products. There are a lot of these products such as soaps or lotions that contains papaya extract that even tones your skin.

well, if you have a long neck then it probably is getting more sun exposure than your face is.. Same goes for the arms. If you use an SPF moisturizer on your face then clearly it will protect your skin from discoloration. It doesn't matter where you live, during the day you get exposed to uv rays all the time when you are out doors. the best way to even your self out is to wear spf sublock on your arms, face, and neck. Eventually throughout the winter time your skin should even out again.. Continue to use sunblock and you will see that next summer it won't be so drastic.. Some people are more sensitive to uv rays. So even if your outside for 5 minutes a day, it can change your color..

Sometimes its due to which parts of your skin see more of the sun than others,eg wearing pants and t-shirts. Your legs dont get sun on them but your arms do, which means your arms will be darker than your legs. Try bio oil which helps different skin tones, or go to a tanning salon which will give you an all over one colour tone.

maybe u are ur own twin!---if u saw TLC there was a special on ppl who are fused w/ their twins...they have two sets of dna but all in one person, when they were still in their mother...so lets say u have a child, if they take a dna test, they could be taking the dna of ur twin and it would look like u didnt give birth to ur child...they would have to find ur dna somewhere else in ur body that's urs...strange isnt it, but very real...they also showed a baby w/ the same prob and half of it was light skin and a boy and the other was dark skin and a girl (the child had half male and half female genetials) u could see the line dividing the twins half way down the baby...
either that or u have lots of beauty marks...

Sounds as if you put make-up on your face, but not your neck. Sounds like you wear long pants and short sleeved tops. Perfectly normal. Wear a good sunscreen and it will take care of the problem as well as help protect you from skin cancer in the future.

It could be a condition called Vitaligo ( I think that is the correct spelling) . It is where you have pigment lose . Hormone changes during pregnancy and also too many years of sun can cause skin discolorations.

Well it could be due to those locations each getting a different amount of sun. It may be somethign worth mentioning to your doctor if it's really got you concerned.
