My dad and I have both had eMachines, I haven't had any problems with them. The only thing (like mentioned above) is the power supply isn't that great. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly fine how the computer package comes, but if you are planning on putting a big graphics card or something like that, then you are probably going to need a different PSU.
Personally, I think they are GREAT for the average computer user. They can be upgraded pretty well also. However, if you are looking for a kick-butt gaming machine, you need to look elsewhere.

E-Machines tend to skimp on the power supply. It is fine to power the computer the way it comes from the factory, but if you add a lot of peripherals, you might want to change the power supply to a heftier one.
I have owned e-Machines...they are worth the money. A decent deal.

They are good if your just going to surf the web and do word processing, if you want to play high end games such as Word of Warcraft or Doom 3 or Half Life 2 then i would not reccomend getting an e-machine.
If you get it at best buy don't let them sell you tons of extra junk you don't need!

my mom, brother and grandmother all have them.. and they've never had a problem out of them. i think they're so inexpensive because they're not a well-known name, but they seem to be good machines.
