Rap sucks?

Question

Why do people think that rap sucks?
Hip-Hop is a culture which includes rapping so if you don't like rap, than fine, don't listen to it. You rockers are all just a bunch of ignorant haters! I bet they know most of the recent rap songs anyways to claim that it "sucks".

I don't hate rock, I'm just asking why people hate rap?

Some of them are ignorant because they go on other questions pertaining to people who like rap and say that rap sucks.

i dont know but i love rap and especially the hard core stuff,i agree people are ignorant and wont listen to it,they sterotype rap as all gansta drive by **** but its not true ,most rap has a messege and thoorgh the messege you can feel the artists pain gfor example tupac was mad talented and most rappers dont get the props they deserve for being talented,rap to me is poetry and its hard to get a flow going so i think they are real talented to rap well and others who dont listen should open their ears threy may discover something they like about it if they are just open minded

Hard rocker here in Detroit.
I dont think that all rap sucks I think that any song sucks if you can't understand the words.
Plus the things they rap about suck.
Now if I can understand the words and it seems that they have a way to express themselves in a creative way and has a good beat...then it doesn't suck as much.

Take Eminem he is very creative and you can understand the words...but he does not write his own music(Dr. Dre).
I might as well be Britney Spears (big fake) for all I care.
I will give any song one listen and sometimes two...like that country song Hey batter batter swing....very creative way to get a point accrost and a good beat listened twice but I won't follow or care about that artist.
Now and again you have rap and rock n roll that come together with remarkable results - Areosmith - Run DMC...that was history.
Yes true rockers may have some knowledge of rap...because we know what good music is.

You don't want anybody trashing rap or rappers , why are u calling rockers ignorant haters ? lol ....Everybody's free to like whatever they want , if they think rap sucks they're not going to listen to it . If you think rock sucks then that's perfectly fine with me.

I don't necessarily think it sucks.
Personally I don't like it. But that's just a matter of taste.
I don't consider it music though.
To me for something to be music. the performers need to
1 play musical instrument
2 sing
In rap there is very little of either as far as I can tell.
It does rhyme though, so I guess it could arguably be called poetry.
As far as the "culture" goes, it's just a little to violent for my taste.
Personally I don't care for glorifying violence,greed and degrading women as ho's and bitches. Both of which seem to be a central theme in most rap. I'm sure you probably don't see it that way. But I'm just trying to give an honest answer to your question.
What it boils down to, for me anyway, is I don't really care what other people listen to. People will listen to anything.

well because it does.......let me name a few reasons why it sucks, cuz i think you asked the wrong question. it should why does rap suck? so most "rappers" have no talent, tone deaf, couldnt sing there way out of a wet paper bag.next they don't know how to play instruments ( how can you even call that music?)they can't dance,they think the more silver,gold diamonds whatever makes them cool.the style sucks they all look like they just walked out the welfare office and they gots to go pay the light bill that in they babys name.so no style pioints for them and most important think they lack is talent, they "rap" about bitc.hes and ho.es and money and cars and sh.it that doesnt matter to most normal people.who cares if they have a new pair of shoes or jeans or 3 bitc.hes not me so i say to you rap DOES suck and your too blinded by the bling too see it.

Ethermax, Flavor Flave is a classically trained pianist and can also play the guitar and drums. So for you to say rappers can not play musical instruments is a fat lie.
