Out of these movies whitch ones should my friends and I watch? We don't like teen horror or slasher movies movies, nor ones where everyone sits around talking about stuff. I did some research, but it is difficult because I don't want to know the entire movie befroe we watch it. Here's the list:
Rose Red
Pet Cemetary
The Exorsism of Emily Rose
Texas Chainsaw Masacre
The Omen
Psyco (One Friend wants us to see this one)
Poltergeist
28 Days Later
The Birds
Shallow Grave
Alice Sweet Alice
The Others (Both friends have seen this, not me)
The Brood
Rose Mary's Baby
The Devil's Backbone
The Changeling
The Dead Zone
Blair Witch Project
Nightmare on Elm Street (I live on a street with that name, lol)
Audition
What four or five would you suggest? And a little off topic, but how many bags of candy do you go through on Halloween?

Usually we go through 15-20. We live on a popular street. Maybe it's because of the name.

As a huge horror movie buff... I would recommend The Exorcism of Emily Rose. My all time favorite is Pet Semetary which is a classic. Nightmare or Texas... you said you don't like slasher flicks, so I wouldn't recommend. Poltergeist is also a goody. Rose Mary's Baby... I fell asleep both times I watched it

I would go with:
Rose Red
The Exorsism of Emily Rose
The Omen
Rosemary's Baby
Poltergeist
The Dead Zone
All are scary, but nothing too gory, no slashing here. If you don't like slasher movies, definitely stay away from Nightmare on Elm Street and 28 Days Later. They're both good movies, but VERY bloody. The Others wasn't really very scary in my opinion, and neither was the Blair Witch Project. I don't know much about the others. Have fun!
Oh, and I don't get trick or treaters, so no Halloween candy here. :-(

OK first off Psyco isn't that great in my opinion. I think it is simply knowing the story kinda hurt it but I just wasn't that scared. Blair Witch Project FLAT OUT SUCKED.
So back to the picks
Pet Cemetary is actually a decent flick
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is considered a great movie, very little slasher type effects although everyone seems to remember them being there
28 days later was good
The Birds is Hitchcock so you know it was well directed as a horror movie
most of the rest I never saw so can't really comment.

Pet Semetary is the scariest movie for me, ever since I was a little girl I've been terrified of that movie! The Exorcism of Emily Rose was really scary too. Poltergeist is pretty scary and so is 28 Days Later. Good luck and make sure you see these movies with some company, they are way to scary without friends around!
I am really glad you picked horror flicks, by the way, all those slasher/gory movies aren't even scary!!

Rose Red is good for a little of suspense and plus if you turn out thel ights when you watch it, it could help be scarier
Exorcism of Emily Rose is a good scary one, it is really scary or it was for me anyways
Alice Sweet Alice is good for the girls to watch..It is a little scary with a kick of creepiness in it
Texas Chainsaw Massacre if it is the newer one is a real scary one..I bought had a heart attack jumping so much..HAVE FUN
P.S...not too many kids live on my street but there are tons in the neighborhood so my parents get 4 bags and we usually just have a litte left

Blair Witch Project was the only movie that ever scared me, so I recommend that one if you haven't seen it. I'd also say then Psycho, Texas Chainsaw, Nightmare on Elm Street and Pet Semetary. I don't know if you're going to like Psycho or the The Birds, but I did. I don't think you'll like Rosemary's Baby.

Tell you the truth. 28 Days Later has an absoultely great premise and the first time you see it you're like WTF. If you never seen this movie before give it a shot. It's action paced with zombies and stuff but thought provoking as well.
After you've seen 28 Days Later once it doesn't have the same effect. Blair Witch is a great movie as well but there is nothing more then psychological scares here, not even a drop of blood, no violence, nodda. Just three kids screaming at eachother for getting lost.
