Ocassinally the key would not turn at all unless you jammed key in.
THIS has not happenend in a while but now when you try to start the first time nothing then try again and it starts right up no problem. Is my ignition bad?

If the key will turn, the lock and cylinder are probably OK. The ignition switch COULD be the problem. But then so COULD the clutch switch, neutral switch, starter relay, starter solenoid or the starter itself. Battery connections (or cables) also can cause your no-start.

What kind of vehicle??
If it has a factory anti theft system it may be the vehicle theft deterrent module or the lock cylinder isn't reading the key.

sounds like the ignition lock is bad,or simply just worn out.
