Online courses, programs, and degrees offered through major accredited universities with a long-standing national reputation are likely to be superior. Why? (1) The instruction will be as good or better. (2) The cost may be less, especially in some state institutions. (3) The prestige of the degree will be superior in academic circles and in some professions and businesses.

Be sure that the college or university you choose is accredited in the field in which you are studying. Consult recent graduates of the program of YOUR choosing, not just those quoted or referenced by the institution. The better programs will provide for interaction with other students as well as with the instructor.

Good On-Line uviversity is an oxymoron.

That being said, Duke University has two excellent MBA programs that combine distance learning with on-site learning. Their GEMBA and Cross-Continent programs are both excellent.

Several people from my work have gone to the University of Pheonix online and they really liked it. I honestly don't know much about it, but i'm sure you could find plenty of information online. :)
