Is it me or does it seem like the who internet is full of bots? I think I'm talking to a real person, but then it seems like they totally miss the point! What is up with this?

First let me say I'm not trying to bash or demean you, just trying to give a meaningful answer.
The fact that you are looking for friends on the Internet says a lot about you. You need to look for friends in places where the person you are talking to can't hide and tell you lies without you knowing it.
Also try communicating in a more intelligent fashion, without slang terms (bots). If you are seeking real friendship, be yourself not necessarily what others want you to be, chart your own course. If you think something is "cool" , ask yourself "why?".
