Good point fitgal, I did not think about deserts (cake, pie, etc.)...kinda defeats the purpose eh?

Yes, I have known many fat vegetarians. The reason why they are fat while abstaining from meat products is that they overeat high-fat vegetable products.

For example, one person ate Doritos by the bagfuls.

Another person was not a vegan and ate dairy. Lots of cheese!

Still yet, another vegetarian I knew ate pasta, pasta, pasta and rice. And sugar! No carb control.

So, you can still gain weight while eating vegetarian if you don't watch it. And, of course, none of these people were active. They also became vegetarian for ethical reasons, not health reasons.

Usually those who care for animals, though, care about their own health, too. So, most vegetarians are not fat.

Yes. Some do not eat healthy at all. I know a vegetarian who eats pasta, cake, etc, and does not work out a bit.

Yeah I have met many fat vegetarians. Mostly my moms Indian friends.

When my sister and her boyfriend were vegetarian, all they ate was falafels and cheese pizza. Yes, they were kinda fat.

Yes I know 5 people who come to my aerobic class ( no joke they all say the don't eat meat.) Go figure?
