I know this one!!! Get one of the sprinklers that are motion sensored. Cats hate water and they aren't harmed. It worked for me!

Take a whistle or a bell out there and a squirt gun or garden hose and chase it off. It will take a few times for the cat to get the message, but if you make the garden an uncomfortable place, the cat will stay out.

If moth balls don't work you might try liquid ammonia. Just pour it around the outside edge of the garden. It won't hurt the cat and it won't hurt the garden but it will keep animals from going into the garden.

Why would you want to provide weapons to a cat???

There is a product you can buy at a Garden Center....granuales that are designed to scare off pests like cats. It works well. It basically has a scent that will frighten the animal off....make him think that a predator is around.

Assuming you meant without "harming" the animal, try sprinkling paprika around the edge of your garden. Apparently cats do not like the smell of it.

Plant catnip in a location far removed from your garden. Guarantee that will keep it out of your garden.

I'm guessing "arming" is supposed to be "alarming." I sure wouldn't want you to arm the cat. It might lead to your demise. One way to move a kitty on his/her way is to turn the hose on them. They do not care for it, it doesn't hurt them, and they get the picture pretty quickly.
