I agree wit ur RAP list! Those are all my favorite rappes but u gotta embrace new sh!t too! Try Common, Talib Kweli, etc. or listen to Def Poetry Jam! It's the same thing w/o a beat. I don't like Ridin Dirty either but Chamillionaire is a great lyricist if u listen to some of his old stuff. I agree wit u on Young Joc but the beat for 'It's Goin Down' was good.

People rap about what people are into at the time. No one wants to hear about being locked up or anything anymore. People want to hear about women and drugs and things like that.
