Egg came first, because dinosaurs laid eggs, and dinosaurs came before birds.
IN pure evolutionary terms, the egg came first. The parents of the first "chicken" were not technically chickens. A mutation occurred in the germline of one of the parents, which produced a "chicken" as it hatched out of the egg. By the way, what the heck is a chicken anyway??? What did the first chicken look like???
The other day in the supermarket I bought a roaster chicken and a carton of eggs. When the cashier rang up the chicken first, he said, "Look, the chicken came before the eggs." I think he was a comedian in his night job. :-)

Egg was the link between life in the water & life in the land in the process of evolution. Hence the first chicken was born out of that magic egg. So EGG is the answer.

The egg was layed by something like a chicken.
The egg gave birth to the first chicken.
Unless you are talking about food.

Some say they egg came first, others say the chicken came first. I on the other hand would like to believe they came together. It is a rarity in most relationships, but so pleasant when it happens!

well asuming that birds are actually the desendents of dinosaurs, i would have to say that the egg came first becasue it would have been layed by a dionsaur then it hatched and thus the chicken or realitive of the chicken came first then through evolution the modern chicken as we know it came about

The egg, of course. The previous egg layer might not have been a chicken.

well we know they have a creattor right?
now creator want chiken..now they he wont go and make egg and then it will take time and make a chicken....
so he will directly make a hen and then from that to continue, he also made a system to produce new and for that he used egg..
so basically chicken came first and not egg.....
