I know of only three definitions of "cow": 1. the animal that gives milk, 2. an adjective to describe someone who is unattractive, and 3. a temper tantrum, as in "she's havin' a cow"

Utter-wise, I don't know.

I am a country gal and I have a cow so let me tell you. First of all, I am very sad that you have no idea what a cow is. They are very nice and if you don't live in an apartment then consider getting one if you can give daily care.
A cow is a four-legged animal about the size of a horse. You can sometimes ride them and there are many breeds. There are cow shows and in fact mine one first place once. I don't really know how to explain cows but mine is actually a bull but I used to have a brown swiss cow. Try the links below to figure out what a cow is.
WOW!!! I still can't BELIEVE that you don't know what a cow is. I can't believe you are serious!!!

I want to tell everyone that not all cows are black and white you idiots. I have NEVER had one that was black and white, only brown and brown ones don't give chocolate milk, we milked one and they give regular milk. Errrrrrgggg, you dumbasses!!!

usually a girl bovine. hoofed animal of good size that either is used as a source of milk or as a food (beef).

the word "cow" also can be a female elephant and whale, probably some other critters too, but i can't think of them at this time.

i just love cowies. just as long as they don't step or poop on me. even some bulls are nice - and let's not forget calves. sweetest breath under the sun. you would have sweet breath too if you ate what they do.

there are plenty of daries in NY state. just head west about an hour out of the City into the country and i am sure you will drive past at least one farm with a couple black & white (dairy) or white-face (steer - beef). stop and put down your window and say hello. one might come over to say hi right back at ya. MOO!

roast beef, steak, hamburger, potroast, beef ribs, veal cutlets. Oh, and milk. Take a drive up north and you'll see some cows - there may even be some in the Bronx Zoo - don't think there's any in Central Park Zoo - but you could call and ask. Get a book about cows from library or do a search for cows.

A cow is the female of many species, but the one you are refering to, i think, is a female bovine.
Now then thats all well and scientific, but just what IS a cow?
Guess you have seen a horse (under a policeman and not getting cuffed), cows are a bit like that fatter, shorter neck and legs though.
Not many wild cows about, just about all of them live on farms. Dairy cows are what we get milk from (that is also processed into cream, butter and cheese)
Beef comes from the male of the species

if you are serious see the link below

Cow - a mature female of a bovine family
Cattle - the whole "cow" family
Heifer - kind of like a cow, but not a true cow yet, and won't actually be a cow, won't begin to have her birthdays recorded or even be taken seriously as a cow, until she has given birth to her first calf.
Bull - an adult male bovine animal
Steer - young ox, especially one castrated before maturity and raised for beef
Ox - an adult castrated bull

There are 3 kinds... one is hard to find though....

1: Your standard black and white cow... they give you your standard white milk.

2: The brown cow. This is where chocolate milk comes from... instead of grass, they feed on the root of cocoa beans.

3: Is the PINK cow... they give the strawberry milk. They feed in strawberry fields.
