okay i am a cheerleader right now, so i will try and help the best i can :).
1) if you mess you mess up the number one rule is to just keep your cool and smile, and usually people wont notice.
2)smile smile smile
3) BE TIGHT! squeeze every single muscle in your body, every second your cheering ( it really does help).
4) BE LOUD! yell your heart out, but make sure your not screaming, make sure that you are yelling with your diaphram so that you do not lose your voice.
5) have fun with it! cheerleaders are there to pump up the crowd, to get everyone excited, and to make the game more fun. if you are not having fun with it, then this may not be your sport.
P.S; dont let others get you down. many of times cheerleaders are discriminated against because cheerleading is said to not be a sport but dont worry because it defidently is! good luck and have fun!

Practice, practice, and practice! I'm currently a member of a university college cheerleading squad. Its tough sometimes, but you have to learn from your mistakes. Remember to keep your arms straight, lock your elbows. Toes pointed when jumping. Even if your jump is high, always keep perfect form (head and back straight). Try not to lean forward when doing a toe-touch,etc. this will cause you not to get the full height.

I've got a lot of tips that I can give to you, because I've been through it. If you want you can email at louisianadimepiece@yahoo.com

Make sure you stretch out really well both before cheering and then after. It will increase your flexibility helping your jumps, and will also decrease your chances for injury. Oh yeah, and have lots of fun too!
