Scienstists guess that how animals and insects see by looking at insects' eye structure and chemical inside. E.g. mosquitoes, they can't see human, instead just looking for place where they can see the heat because they use infrared to detect environment. Scientist doesn't know exactly how they see but just guessing.

Fruit flies can see Greens, Blues and UV light based on the response their photoreceptors have when stimulated with those lights. They can't see infrared
