Hey I'm just turned 15 & have had this problem ever since I can remember. Personally I think I have a really good signing voice & all my teachers, friends, family...and everyone else whose heard me sing. I cant picture doing anything else with my life, other than becomming a famous singer...even during the day I'll just randomly burst into song!(never in public, just in my own room). But when it comes to singing in front of people my stomach gets in a knot & I freeze up! Last year when i auditioned for the talent show the pricepal said I as In, DEFINATLY. But when the date for the show drew closer I grew terrifyed at the thought of singing in front of my peers & dropped out! I can only sing in front of my best friend & occasionally my mom. Please help, I really wanna become famous, ANY advice at all is seriously appreciated!

Practice in front of the mirror while singing that way you begin to start getting use to singing in front of people. As for the talent show, enter it again. For the show get some of your friends together and form a small band where you are the singer of the group. Weeks or months before the talent show start forming your voice by practicng in the mirror and listening to music that you like. For the music u use, try to develop or think of how the singer uses there voice to get the song or message to their fans. Practice a lot in front of the mirror! This is how I was able to get over my fear of speaking in front of people, by practicing every time whenever I had to speak in front. Other than that when in the talent show relax, take a couple big breaths, say or think of positive thoughts. Stand up tall, begin singing, rock the house. Hope this helps you out.

You have to stop worrying about failing. Psych yourself up by telling yourself you're somehow superior to your audience and that it doesn't matter if you succeed or fail. That air of confidence, even if you make a mistake, will impress the hell out of people. Just ask anyone who has ever judged a talent show, or scouted for talent. Confidence can weigh as heavily as talent, in many cases. (No one starts out as a pro.)

Try singing to a group in a nursing home, or somewhere you can find people from which you don't fear criticism.

Get some GOOD friends together. Tell them your problem. Ask them to be your audience, again and again. Let them giggle, you giggle with them. Start over and over until you finally feel safe to let it rip. Then, increase the size of the group of friends, little by little. The next thing you know, the entire school will be watching you belt out tunes like a star!!

Good luck to you! :o)

Start in front of a small group, and get constructive criticisms. Once you get started, work toward getting in front of progressively larger groups, until you can get in front of a packed theater.

Close your eyes and imagine that you are alone. If you don't get over this you will lose a lot of chanses.
