Quantity in DVD's and Books?

Question

When you shop for films or books, does the amount of film time or reading time you get for your buck ever influence your purchase?
i.e. if you're decideing between "the 40 year old virgin" and "the hot chick" does the 2hr+ running time of the first makes you want it more?

no that sounds a little cheap I'd buy which ever book/DVD i wanted most
