Do you find it odd that I dont want to celebrate my 16'th birthday tomorrow [August 7'th, Monday]?
I mean.. I'm not even interested in doing anything.
I keep getting phone calls from friends asking me what i'm doing and when I say nothing they're like "your wierd!" but its just.. the hype of birthdays never appealed to me and I hate recieving gifts. [thats just because I feel obligated to buy them something back next holiday and I dont have alot of money]..
Am I wierd?

No, you're not weird, you're just not interested in doing any celebrating for your birthday. But just remember- you only turn 16 once, and turning 16 is something big in a girl's life. You may want to reconsider things, maybe by your birthday you'll feel like having some fun. Happy Birthday!!!

I just saw this thing on MTV where this girl threw a Cinderella themed Sweet 16, and came off as a totally shallow when she threw a fit over some girl being there that she didn't like. I mean, all that effort and money, and she was willing to let one person ruin it all!
Don't let your friends bring you down. Do something you enjoy just for yourself to celebrate, like a walk in the woods, a long bubble bath, or just relax and enjoy the summer.
You're not weird. Just very special and mature enough to know that money cannot buy happiness.

I don't think you're weird at all. In fact, you're very mature. You understand that birthdays and holidays are NOT just about gift giving and celebration. Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders.
And happy birthday! spend it doing whatever YOU want, even if it's nothing.

Yes, it is your birthday. And yes, you can do whatever you want. However, it sounds like you have a lot of friends that care about you and want to do something special for you. Have a party, tell them no gifts, and have a great time.

no your not, but dont feel you half to by some one something just because they by you something thats why its called a gift, but if you dont have a sweet 16 party you will regret it when your older but happy birthday may all your wiches come true
