Black ants are not that aggressive, yes they do bite but not always. Only if you are standing near their cocoon. The bite doesn't do much harm.
Incase of red ants they are aggressive & they leave a chemical in your body which can cause little bit of inflammation around that area, like mosquitos.
You can term black ants as domestic ants & red ants as wild ants.

Yes, all ants can bite as they all have mandibles. Just as stated above red ones usually have some kind of venom.
However, argueably the most dangerous are the larger army ants, which are a black ants.

oh yeah they bite just as sure as red ants only the red ants for some reason has a much worse bite

I know that red ants will bite anyone who gets into their way...And black ants will bite if they have to...

as far as i can tell all ants sting.but big red ants only if you mash them.we have some huge red ants on our farm in texas the nest was there when we bought the land 16 years ago.we go to the farm to feed our donkeys several times a week and always feed the ants my grandchildren love feeding donkeys ants and the fish

yes the buggers do bite, good question but where have all the red ants gone i aint seen any for years

I've been bitten by a red ant before! stings a little, i feel your pain if u got bitten!
got more to do with breed then colour!
just feel glad we don't live in the amazon! army ants and stuff!

Red usually are more potent but certain black such as the carpenter ant can hurt and even be deadly

yes black ants can and as they are related to wasps use vinegar to nuetralise it the ants venom is alkiline thes helps with the pain
