that wasnt his wife in the beginning. only after he got over his neurosis was he able to see her and get into a relationship with her. after everything that happened and he got out of his life of crime he was normal and sanish

didn't they get married much later? he just met her in the grocery store and flirted with her. then after he got scammed he went straight and, i'm guessing, married the woman he flirted with earlier in the movie. or at least that was my take on it.
