It sucks! Especially when the Cubs or Mets come into town. Why are San Diego fans so disloyal?

I don't think the Padres fans are disloyal; I think many people from NY and Chicago have moved to San Diego over the years. I am originally from Brooklyn, and have something like 20 or 30 relatives in SanDiego. When their home team shows up, they come out to see them. My aunts & uncles in San Diego are still Mets/Yankees fans, but their kids who grew up there are Padres fans. I live in NW Montana, and I know that we try to make it to Seattle when the Yankees play there.

go Padres! they're my favorite team too, I love them. well San Diego is a military town and a lot of families have been relocated to San Diego from wherever they previously lived. therefore the result is a whole melting pot of baseball fans who cheer for other teams along with the Padres. It gets annoying sometimes but it's getting better. the fans are getting more into it like they were back in '98. my family is from Chicago originally.

Padres fans aren't disloyal, it's just that some teams fans will take there summer vacation to a city where their home team is playing. After all if you lived in NYC or Chicago wouldn't you want to get away from those dumps for a couple weeks in Southern CA?

Because the Cubs and Mets fans at the game aren't Padres fans. If you go to a game at Chavez Ravine do you root for the Dodgers against the Padres?

Actual Padres fans arent disloyal, its all those idiots that go to the stadium only to say "yea I was at the padres game last night" they just get there late get drunk and leave early. Since so many of those type of "fans" go when the other teams is winning the away fans get louder since our "fans" start leaving around the 6th or 7th inning. I love the Padres but I hate those laidback so cal "fans" who make Petco Park their afternoon plans. But anyway GO PADS BACK TO BACK NL WEST CROWNS!!!!

It's because you live in what's known as a "destination" city. In other words, people move there from other cities to work and live. When they do they still cheer for their home team. I mean let's be serious the weather in SD is awesome and while the cost of living is higher than some, it's no worse than NY or Chicago so when people get a chance to move from the other cities a lot of them do.
