if your tourqe converter was knocked out of balance would you hear it rubbing against the bell houseing or could it be the clutch??

its a scraping sound when i coast but i hear a chiping sound when i step on the gas,,,,

You probably need a new flywheel.
It will make a scraping/chirping sound.
You will nee to drop the trans and converter and replace the flywheel.

If you've got a clutch, you don't have a torque converter, and vice versa. Is your car/truck a manual or automatic? Automatic has the torque converter...

No it woun't if your hearing noise in that area check the bolts that hold the torque convert to the flywheel for starters .Automatics do have clutchs in them .

standerd or automatic trans ? If you have an auto. trans, then it would be the bushing that the torque slides through, it is brass.
I have changed enough of them to know this.

????no torque converter and clutch together,clutch is stardard trans and torque converter for automatic,what do you have?

LOOKS LIKE YOU BROKE SOMETHING FEELS GOOD TO HAVE A RACEACAR LIKE THE FIRST GUY SAID CHECK TORKCONVERTOR TO FIYWHEEL BOLTS AND KEEP SMOKIN THEM
