Sweetie, your pic link is not working for me, but there are venomous snakes in Mexico. Please be careful. The triangular or arrowhead shaped head indicates that it is probably venomous even without the rattler. E-mail me with a pic if you like. I am an amateur Herpetologist.

Okay, I got the links to work. It is a 'vibora vaca,' a Yellow Bull snake. It is non-venomous and beneficial as it eats mice, rats and other vermin. Yellow Bull snakes can make good pets. I have seen them as long as seven and a half feet. It is not true that they steal milk from cows or babies. They got the bad rap from hanging around barns where rats were plentiful.
Just leave it alone. They are harmless. Another tip, notice the round pupils. Most harmless snakes (the Coral Snake being the notable exception) have round pupils. Harmful snakes will normally have slit-pupil eyes.
Hope that helps.

I'm not 100% on which one, but I think it's a Bull snake. It's that or a Gopher snake, either way you have nothing to worry about poison wise. After reading some of these other answers, I realize people are idiots. Garder snakes are a different color, this is a copperhead, notice the difference in head shape?http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=40&de=415087

Sigh... it's certainly NOT a copperhead. It's without a doubt a snake of the genus Pituophis, either a bull, pine, or gopher snake. My guess is bull snake. Completely harmless, other than if it bites you it might bleed a bit. Check them out at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituophis if you want to identify exactly which species it is... They are beautiful snakes :)

Go to http://www.kingsnake.com they have a forum on there called Snakes: What kind? Post the pictures there. They'll be able to tell you for sure what it is. Because the answers you get on here are at most confusing.

If it has a triangular or arrowhead shape to its head, it is most likely poisonous. The reason for that shape is that it has venom glands or sacs.

It looks like a gopher snake. Gopher snakes are not poisonous. They eat small rodents. Enjoy your new pet.

It thats what I think it is......a copperhead. Yes they are poisoness.
There are alot of different species of that type, about 2000, and have alot of cousins. Below is information on those type of reptiles. Next time you encounter one ....keep clear and warn anyone nearby. If someone can come and take care of it, like the police, let them handle it.
