what should i where on the first day of school?

Well, this is my theory:
Don't wear your favorite outfit the first day of school, because then you have to top it the rest of the week. If you wear a really cute outfit the first day, and wear like sweats or something the next day, it's just weird.

So it really depends on your shape and style now..but since I dont' know you, I would just suggest like a pair of jeans or capris with a polo or something. And then a little accessory to add a little bit extra ;]
