i have a 6 month lease which is now up, i moved out, the manager says i had to give her 30 days to move out, now wants me to pay another month , she threathen to send me to collections & court. but since my contract is up. I dont feel i have to pay, or do I?

it depends... read your lease. i'm sure it says in there that you have to provide, in writing, your 30 days notice. that was mean on the apt's side for not reminding you, but most apt's have that clause in their leases... sorry...

Even though your term of the lease was 6 months, you may have had to give notice. Sometimes the lease is written so that it automatically converts to a month-to-month contract if you don't move out. The only way to know if you are right is to read the fine print. If it does not say anything about automatically extending, then you may not owe anything.

If the terms of your lease stipulate that you have to give 30 days notice, then yes, you likely have to pay for the month in lieu of the notice. You signed the lease; it's a contract and you are obligated to comply with all of the terms.
