the fuel pump is in the gas tank

You have to drop the exhaust first. Then you have to drop the tank. On top of the tank you have to disconnect two fuel lines,and one electrical connector. Drop the tank down the rest of the way,
and with a punch, rotate the retaining ring that hold the pump in. It
should come right out. If you break off the lines, you will have to
replace the sending unit also. Reverse prcedure to install.

you will just have to put a new one in , it is in the gas tank any shop can do this for a reasonable price...
