I believe the problems of the world do affect us. However, most Americans appear to be ignorant of anything occurring outside their own backyard. It's pathetic. It's clear by some of the questions asked here that many do not pay attention to the news in any way. In this day and age it's available in so many form, I don't know how they could miss it.

No I think a lot of Americans have a lot of opinions about the war just as everyone else does. Do they actually know what's going on over there? Most don't. Do they care to find out before they form their own opinion or do they just fall in line and be a liberal, coffee shop, emo?
I'm an American working for the government and have been to more countries that I can count on both hands so trust me, I have to be armed with current event info every time I go out for a drink. Some people just don't have a clue or care to ask the Iraqi people.

Not apathetic. But most of us are too busy scraping together an income, and taking care of our families to go out and protest.

We are so apathetic to war becuase we have never tasted it ourselves. Americans just watch it on TV and admire the pretty explosions.
