Would you consider it important for a leader to understand that there are people who have talents that they do not?? Can a quality like this benefit them?

Sure - this is a good quality. If you let people do the things they know and like best - you will get better results. I have people working for me who are good public speakers. I wouldn't ask someone in my off who doesn't like public speaking to give a presentation. I may try to find out why that person doesn't like public speaking and give her encouragement to try it. Some people like to do reports, work with numbers etc. Take advantage of their talents. Of course, there are some jobs that nobody likes (like filing) so everyone shares in this task to get it over quickly.
