i went to the blood plasma center today and they told me my tempurature was to high..what is the tempurature range for wich i can donate plasma..i wasnt sick or anything and even when i do get sick i never ever get a tempurature...for anyone whos ever donated can u please tell me...???thanks

If you have an elevated temperature, even if you are not exhibiting any other signs of illnes, chances are you have something in your system. If they give blood or blood products with viruses or other infectious agents to someone going through major medical procedures the recipient might get very sick because of their already compromized system. Your temperature should be within the 'normal' range, and should be at least 3 days of normal temperature before donation. Some places require a week of normal temperature prior to donation.

I can't give you the normal range because we a re metric here, but it should be easy enogh to find in imperial.

I wanted to donate blood once at my high school a few years ago and they told me I couldnt because my temp was too high. I wasn't sick...it was because the room was so warm. Another time they said it was too high because I had a mint in my mouth a few minutes earlier. that time they let me go though. I couldn't have registered over 100 though, so the cutoff must be pretty low. They don't want to risk anything. I'd say 100 degrees is probably the cutoff

To keep a regular body temperature, you should drink a room temperature glass of water or juice. Drinking a very warm or very cold beverage can make your body temperature reading inaccuarate

normal average body temp is 98.7
